Videos on family poses
Generally speaking family sessions are largely about capturing relationships and interaction and it’s pretty tough to capture that when everyone is far away from each other, so I tend to position everyone close together. having said that, it's not a hard and fast rule and there's exception to this that I show in the 'Gallery of large or extended family poses' video (see below)
I find seated poses easier, as it brings everyone closer and if the parents are positioned correctly, it results in a nice 'lap' for the children, and it's easier to get heads at different heights, which I think looks better. Plus the more you show of someone, the harder it is to pose them.
